We were really excited about picking up our share this weekend because it included something we have never bought before– figs! Before putting the produce away, Akim and I couldn’t resist enjoying a fresh juicy fig. It was refreshing but not overly sweet; juicy but not too sticky. It was Akim’s first time to have a fig, and I do believe he’s hooked! Experiences like this is one of the great things about being part of a co-op. We have been able to try new fruits and vegetables we normally don’t see or purchase from local grocery stores. It has really shaken us out of our typical bananas-and-broccoli routine!
